Mongolian Opera "Uchirtai Gurvan Tolgoi" to Be Played at Sukhbaatar Square

Ulaanbaatar, May 3, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The first Mongolian Opera “Uchirtai Gurvan Tolgoi” [Three Dramatic Characters] by B. Damdinsuren and B. Smirnov will be played at Sukhbaatar Square on July 10, 2024, at 9:00 PM.
During the National Naadam Festival on the occasion of the 2233th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian Statehood, the 818th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 113th anniversary of the Restoration of National Independence and Freedom, and the 103rd Anniversary of the People’s Revolution of Mongolia, the Opera will be staged at the initiative of the Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar City Kh. Nyambaatar.
Casting for the main characters of the Opera has begun. The roles available for casting are Yunden Balgan, Nansalmaa, Khorolmaa, and Trader. Winners of the casting will receive a reward of MNT 100 million.
This casting initiative follows a resolution adopted by the working group, formed by the order of the Governor of the Capital City. Interested participants can register at the Mongolian State Opera and Ballet Academic Theatre until May 20, 2024.
